Hi, I’m Andrea Cardenal, a self-taught, third-generation Latin American artist and therapeutic art instructor. Growing up in a family of opera singers, painters, and writers, I was surrounded by creativity from an early age. Born in the USA to a Salvadoran mother and Nicaraguan father, my childhood in El Salvador during its civil war shaped my early connection to art as a means of emotional expression. Having lived in six cities across four countries and traveled to over 40 more, I draw inspiration from the rich tapestry of cultures I’ve encountered, bringing a unique and eclectic perspective to my work and teaching.

I’ve spent years creating art and guiding others in their creative journeys. As an instructor, I specialize in therapeutic art practices, sharing my belief in the transformative power of art to heal and connect. Whether teaching children or adults, I focus on fostering self-expression and discovery. My professional art career includes exhibiting internationally in prestigious shows like Art Marbella, World Art Dubai, and Art Miami Week, yet my greatest joy lies in seeing the growth and confidence that art can spark in my students.

In my own art, I embrace spontaneity and imperfection, blending various mediums and techniques to create textured and meaningful works that reflect personal emotions and societal themes. As an instructor, I bring this same sense of freedom and exploration into my teaching, encouraging my students to embrace creativity as a tool for growth, healing, and self-expression. Whether working with young children or seasoned artists, I strive to make art accessible, impactful, and deeply personal.
